Welcome Back!
WELCOME BACK! This summer seemed to go by even faster than normal. With
the close of the 2017/18 school year we were all on pins and needles waiting to
hear the final results of Measure M; I’m happy to report that Measure M passed
(Thank you, Katie Aschero and others for all the blood, sweat and tears you
poured into this campaign)! I think it was a good reminder to all of us to exercise
our right to vote, cause as we learned here literally EVERY VOTE counts.
So what does Measure M mean for our school? In a nutshell, it means our
campus will begin to get long overdue upgrades and the remodel process will
also begin. But Measure M won’t cover the cost of our enrichment programs
like: Science, Art, Music, P.E., and HEAL. These programs will still need to be
paid for by the fundraising efforts of our PTO. Our incoming PTO board is full of
exciting, fun ideas for the upcoming school year. Their enthusiasm and energy
is absolutely contagious.
I would like to encourage all of you to join us on this journey: whether that
means coming to a PTO meeting or reaching out by phone or email. We
understand how valuable your time is and want you to know how appreciative
we are for every minute you invest into our children, our school and it’s
programs. Volunteers are the only way we can make all these amazing
programs happen.
This year our school with be traveling to Asia via Continent Day. Last year was
my first Continent Day and I was absolutely blown away by the creativity that
exploded out of our classroom doors. Yes, it is a lot of work for parents, teachers
and our children but the rewards are tenfold. If you’ve never been, mark
your calendars now and try to pop in even for only a half hour. I promise you
won’t be disappointed!
Lastly, I would encourage you to make sure you’re connected with our village
via our e-newsletter Splash, our Facebook group and our beautiful new website
www.fofpto.org . Farallone view has a remarkable support network of parents, teachers and administration all in place to help
make this school year the best yet!
